is a highly critically acclaimed band with top musicians working actively together since more than 6 years. Specialized in having concerts in concert halls or in quiet jazz-clubs only, to assure great listening conditions for the audience and for the musicians. The music can be described as a fusion of modern classical music and spontanious, energetic and improvised jazzmusic. All the musicians are from a town called Haugesund, located in the westcoast of Norway. In 2004 and 2005 they replaced Christina Bjordal Band as the resident band at the Jazz Club To Glass in Haugesund, playing concerts there every week. Norchestra has received great reviews and praisings from local media for their concert performances in Norway.



Guitarist, pianist and composer with a diploma from the Jazz-department of the conservatory at NTNU in Trondheim. After 4 years there with extra lessons in composing and arranging, he won the 1st prize as guitarist competing with over 280 talented musicians from all over the world during the during the Umbria Jazz Clinics in 2003. Has toured parts of Italy and France with the trio "All Strings Trio", and played at some of the greatest jazzfestivals in Norway and Italy such as Kongsberg Jazzfestival, Trondheim Jazzfestival and Sildajazz. He also won several awards in Norway, amongst those Statoils Sildajazz Award and an Art Scholarship from the Municipality of Haugesund


Doublebass player with a degree from the Grieg Conservatory in Bergen, where he studied both classical music and jazz. Released the higly critically acclaimed cd "Where Dreams Begin" with Christina Bjordal Band in 2002. Has been an active part of the jazz-environment at Norway's west coast until he in 2005 decided to move to Oslo to continue to develope further as a double bassist and as an improvising musician. Has played on many of the biggest jazz-festivals in Norway such as Nattjazz, Kongsberg Jazzfestival and Oslo Jazzfestival.


Drummer and percussionist from Haugesund with experience from a wide range of musical genres. Has performed with many great artists, amongst those Vamp, Bjørn Berge, Frode Gjerstad and Nils Økland. Released an album under the name "Jafni" which received favorable reviews and airplay internationally. Has toured every bit of Norway with Norway's Grammy Award winning band Vamp. His influences include the music of Frank Zappa, Weather Report, Mahavishnu Orchestra and many others.
